What is it?

Imagine if you could reverse the effects of ageing by using your body’s own regenerative powers. Imagine if you could restore your facial contours and lost volume without surgery or risk of side-effects. If that sounds too good to be true, we’re delighted to tell you it isn’t. Seffiller is a ground-breaking “fat transfer” procedure that gives you a younger and fuller appearance using the latest techniques in regenerative medicine.

By harvesting cells from your own body fat and transferring them into sagging or hollow areas in your face, you can not only restore lost volume – something that surgical facelifts cannot achieve – you can also regenerate skin tissue for stronger, tighter skin.

This revolutionary anti-ageing procedure can help you:

  • Restore definition to your facial contours, such as around the jawline, chin and cheeks (see Jowls and Nasolabial Folds).
  • Plump areas of your face that are suffering from loss of volume.
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Tighten loose and sagging skin caused by the natural ageing process.

Seffiller is safe, natural, and minimally invasive. Furthermore, you will look amazing. It can be used as an alternative to, or in conjunction with, dermal fillers. Book your consultation today and find out if Seffiller could be a fantastic rejuvenation treatment for you.

How does it work?

Lost volume is the primary cause behind the visible effects of ageing on the face. A loss of facial volume can result in sagging skin, a loss of definition in your facial contours such as around the jawline and chin, and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Our faces lose volume as we age due to collagen and elastin production slowing. With less collagen and elastin, our skin also becomes weaker and loses its laxity.

Seffiller fat transfer addresses these issues. It is an autologous procedure. That means it uses your body’s regenerative abilities and regenerative cells to repair and rejuvenate itself. In this case, it safely takes fat from one area of your body and transports it to your face at points of need. This process works on three levels:

  • The adipose tissue (body fat) creates volume and plumpness when transferred to areas of lost volume. The adipocytes (fat cells) have a volumising effect, which gives a younger, natural appearance.
  • The mesenchymal regenerative cells, which are taken from your own body fat have the capacity to regenerate weakened skin. Regenerative cells are essentially like baby cells, which transform into various types of mature cells, including those for skin, fat, bone, muscle and cartilage.
  • The doctor is able to reposition this new tissue, which helps to give your face a firmer, younger appearance.

What happens during the procedure?

During Seffiller procedures, a special micro cannula is used to harvest a small fat sample, which also contains the regenerative cells. The doctor typically takes fat from areas of the body where it is more tightly packed and dense, such as around the tummy or inner thighs. A local anaesthetic is used in that area so that you feel no pain. The fat and regenerative cells are then mixed in a special machine and implanted into the areas of need. A local anaesthetic is used throughout to keep discomfort to any minimum. Common areas of treatment that suffer from a loss of volume are around the cheekbones, cheeks, lips, and temple regions. Your doctor will strategically administer the fat and regenerative cells in areas that will give you the most optimal outcome for your individual situation. The doctor will explain this to you during your consultation and treatment.

Note that procedures are incredibly safe and simple! They also have virtually zero risk of side-effects as well by virtue of it being an autologous treatment that uses your own tissue. Nothing alien enters the body.

How long does the treatment take to work?

You should notice improved plumpness after treatment as the volumising effect of the transplanted fat works immediately. However, the regenerative action of the cells is more gradual. You should notice visible improvements from 8 – 12 weeks as skin becomes firmer and tighter. Your skin’s tone is also improved. On average, a peak outcome is usually experienced at around six months.

Does it hurt?

A local anaesthetic is injected prior to the procedure and the process is quick and relatively pain-free. There will be some minor discomfort when the injections are applied.

What is the downtime?

Downtime is virtually zero. Unlike surgical procedures, you should be able to return to your normal activities straight after treatment. There will be a tiny mark/wound from where the tissue sample was extracted and possibly some bruising. You may experience some swelling, redness and minor bruising in the treated area(s), which should fade fairly quickly. Make-up can be used to conceal redness and bruising.

What is the risk of side-effects?

One of the main advantages of this procedure is that there is no risk or rejection, allergy or infection. This is because it uses material from your own body rather than injecting anything alien into you. It is completely safe and natural, with astonishing results that can last for as long as two years and beyond.

How many treatments are needed?

One treatment should be enough in the first instance. However, please note that results and duration of results vary from patient to patient. The plumping effects of the transplanted fat can last anywhere between one year to three years. The regenerative effects of the cells can last even longer. Although everyone is different, in general, we usually recommend that you repeat the procedure after approximately one year to maintain results. As always, your progress and situation are monitored and assessed in free reviews with your doctor.

How long do results last?

There is no precise answer to this as everyone is different. As mentioned earlier, the plumping effects of the transplanted fat can last anywhere between one year to three years. The regenerative effects of the transplanted stem cells can last even longer.

What ages are suitable for this treatment?

There is no specific age, but it is most likely to be suitable only for patients over the age of 35. Your doctor will discuss your suitability for this treatment, as well as your other options, during your comprehensive, no-obligation consultation.

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
