Hair V Go Hair Removal

Hair V Go is a hair removal treatment that works by safely destroying the hair deep within its follicle to prevent regrowth. It is specifically targeted at eliminating unwanted vellus hairs, often called peach fuzz.

Vellus hairs are different to other hairs in that they have a narrow cortex and little-to-no melanin (melanin is the pigment that gives skin or hair its colour). Unlike other hairs, they are not linked to hormonal factors. Due to their unique characterisation, peach fuzz can not be effectively tackled by hair removal treatments such as electrolysis, waxing, laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).

Instead, Hair V Go is a high-pH treatment that targets the keratin in the hair (keratin is the hair’s main component and protein structure). A special paste is first applied to your problem area. This breaks down the keratin and dissolves the hair deep within its follicle. The cells in the hair are also gradually disabled, thus thwarting any repeat growth.

During your treatment, the paste is removed, and then the area is cleansed with pH Reset Cleanser, which restores the skin’s acid balance. A specially formulated cream containing botanical hair growth inhibitors is then applied to the treated area as a further layer of defence.

The effects from Hair V Go treatments are both gradual and cumulative, meaning that results will become more and more noticeable with each session. Typically, once you have reached your desired goals, you will only need a few maintenance sessions a year to offset the condition.

That said, patients with virgin hair can notice a dramatic reduction in vellus hairs after one just procedure.

No, the treatment are virtually painless. Furthermore, there is no risk of scarring, burning, ingrown hairs or hyperpigmentation, which you may experience with other hair removal treatments.

In the initial stages, it is recommended that you have repeat treatments every three weeks. Once hair growth decreases, sessions can become less frequent, until eventually you will only need three or four procedures a year.

It is an effective, pain-free solution for removing unwanted hair. The only real drawback is that it requires ongoing maintenance to manage the condition.
