How does Morpheus8 work?

Morpheus8 is a micro-needling treatment that uses advance Radio Frequency energy to strengthen, tighten and smooth skin. As skin matures, the production of its structural proteins collagen and elastin begins to slow down. Over time, this causes skin to lose its firmness and elasticity. Skin gradually begins to sag and our contours lose definition. Similarly, concerns such as stretch marks or scarring are where the collagen and elastin fibres have broken. These can all be treated with Morpheus8.

The Morpheus8 is a special micro-needling device that uses very tiny “micro” pins to penetrate and injure effected skin at an underlying level. Although discomfort is minimal, the process triggers your skin into repairing itself. Crucially, the pins deliver clinically proven fractionated Radio Frequency (RF) energy into the sub-dermal tissue and fat, which tightens and repairs the skin by revitalising collagen. How long does Morpheus8 Skin Remodelling take to work?

You should notice some improvements one month after your first Morpheus8 treatment. Your skin should then continue to improve over the coming weeks and months as new collagen and elastin production is stimulated. Final results should peak at around six months.

What is the downtime for Morpheus8?

Downtime is minimal with Morpheus8 Skin Remodelling procedures, and you can return to most normal activities right away. However, you may experience some redness, swelling or soreness at the treatment area. This is natural and will likely disappear after several days. Our doctor will advise you of aftercare following your Morpheus8 treatment. It is advised that you do not apply make-up until one to two days after treatment.

Does Morpheus8 hurt?

Morpheus8 Skin Remodelling procedures are very safe and minimally invasive. The pins are minuscule and a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area of treatment in order to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

How many Morpheus8 treatments are needed?

How many Morpheus8 sessions you require will depend on your own goals and needs, as well as the size of the area being treated. Most people typically require between three to six sessions. Your practitioner will advise you on the likely course of action during your initial, no-obligation consultation and will monitor your progress during ongoing free reviews.

Note that Morpheus8 Skin Remodelling procedures can also be combined with other anti-ageing treatments for an optimal outcome, depending on your situation and goals. These may include Fillers or Botulinum Toxin Injections. During your initial consultation (and ongoing reviews), your practitioner will help you devise your own tailored plan of action best suited to you.

Your practitioner will take the following pre-care steps for you ahead of Morpheus8 treatments:

Cleanse skin thoroughly
Apply topical anaesthetic (e.g. Receptura) for 30-60 minutes
Remove with alcohol 70%. Clinisept can also be used pre-treatment
Ensure all product is completely removed before commencing treatment
Nerve block on lower/central face or local/tumescent anaesthesia may also be used
Advise patient of post treatment reactions and side effects & check their potential UV exposure plans

Please take note of the following aftercare advice for Morpheus8 treatments.

Can cool area post treatment (sterile cooling methods/air cooling) if warm
Can apply an antiseptic product such as Clinisept, for up to 1-3 days, or until needle holes have closed (ensure product is new/sterile). A barrier product such as Dermaseal can also be used post tx.
Only specific post procedure make-up may be used immediately post treatment, unless Dermaseal has been use
After 1-3 days/when holes close: can use usual products (avoid exfoliating/retinol products until any scabs have healed)
After 1-3 days/when holes close: make-up may be applied (product and application method must be new/clean)
Use SPF30+ daily for 4 weeks post treatment, and ideally ongoing
Avoid significant UV exposure for approx. 4 weeks post treatment

Please be aware of the following possible side-effects

Erythema 1-3 days (can be up to a week)
Possible edema (up to a week)
Small scabs may appear for a few days: do not scratch (moisturise if itchy, may be covered by makeup)
Some bruising may occur (for up to a week)
