How does Diolaze Laser Hair Removal work?

The treatments use powerful and advanced technology, yet the concept is very simple.

During treatment, a diode laser beam penetrates your skin in the targeted area, which heats the roots of your unwanted hairs. Crucially, this process kills both the hairs and their follicles, preventing any future regrowth. Even the most stubborn of hairs are affected during this procedure. Diolaze can be used to treat larger areas compared to other devices.

Note that the treatment is shown to be safer and more effective than older hair removal devices that use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Laser targets ONLY the problem hairs, whereas IPL devices create multiple wavelengths that can affect other components in the skin.

How long does Diolaze Laser Hair Removal take to work?

The process begins to work immediately. You should be able see some reduction in hair after two to three weeks of your first session. Multiple sessions will be required to achieve your optimal outcome. See “How many treatments are needed” below for more information. Note that most patients see a dramatic reduction in problem hair after just a few sessions. Over a short period of time, hairs become finer and weaker, and your skin becomes smoother.

What is the downtime of Diolaze Laser Hair Removal?

There is no downtime for this treatment

Does Diolaze Laser Hair Removal hurt?

Thankfully, the treatments are relatively pain-free thanks to its powerful built-in skin cooling surface. In fact, its cooling feature is one of the largest you’ll find on any modern hair removal device.

How many Diolaze Laser Hair Removal treatments are needed?

Multiple sessions will be required to achieve your goals and – crucially – to ensure removal is permanent. This is primarily because hair grows in cycles. At any given time, different hairs will be at different stages of their growth cycle. During a single Laser Hair Removal session, some of your hair follicles will be lying dormant and will therefore not be killed off by laser.

Other factors can also impact the number of sessions you will require. These include your hair type, hair colour, skin tone and the size and type of the area that you are treating.

As a guide, patients usually need between six to 12 treatments in a course. Your practitioner will advise you on your likely course of treatment during your no-obligation consultation. They will also monitor your progress during ongoing free reviews.

What skin types is Diolaze Laser Hair Removal suitable for?

Unlike many older hair removal treatments, it is safe for all skin types. Your suitability for this treatment will be discussed with you during your initial, no-obligation consultation.

Is Diolaze Laser Hair Removal permanent?

Yes, results from Diolaze Laser Hair Removal can be permanent. Procedures destroy targeted hair follicles, preventing future regrowth. It is unlike more traditional methods such as waxing, bleaching and depilatory creams, which only offer a temporary solution. Results may differ between individuals.

Can Diolaze Laser Hair Removal be used for grey or light-coloured hairs?

Lighter coloured hair is generally more challenging to remove. This is because the pigment in lighter hair doesn’t attract the laser beam as well, enabling it to be destroyed. Your practitioner will advise you whether you are a suitable candidate for this treatment during your initial consultation.

Who is not suitable for Diolaze Laser Hair Removal?

You will not be suitable for Diolaze Laser Hair Removal if any of the following apply to you:

  • Current or history of skin malignancy or precancerous pigmented lesions
  • Diseases stimulated by light (lupus, epilepsy, solar urticaria…)
  • Diabetes
  • Hormonal disorders (PCOS… unless under control)
  • Pregnancy and nursing
  • History of keloid scarring
  • Active infections: herpetic lesions, cold sores (place on anti-viral medication pre-treatment)
  • Very dry, cracked, ulcerated or infected skin (in treatment area)
  • Tattoos, permanent make-up, pigmented lesions (to remain), eyelids or lips
What areas of the body or face can Diolaze Laser Hair Removal treat?

Diolaze Laser Hair Removal can be used safely to treat most areas of the body and even some of the face where unwanted hair is growing. Common areas for treatment include bikini area, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, arms, legs, chin, neck and sideburns. Your practitioner will discuss whether certain areas are suitable during your consultation.

Is Diolaze Laser Hair Removal safe?

Yes, the treatment is very safe. The machine even has a large cooling feature to ensure procedures are more comfortable than other laser hair removal devices.

Should you shave before your Diolaze Laser Hair Removal session?

It is recommended that the area being treated is shaved 12-24 hours before the appointment. This ensures that the skin is protected. Unshaved hair can attract laser energy and can target the follicles which lie beneath the skin surface. Therefore, by shaving the day before, there is a reduced risk of causing damage to the skin with the laser.

Aimee is such a great member of your team, I had one of my laser hair removal sessions, we got to use the better machine that’s normally in Harley street which you don’t even feel compared to the normal one. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly and there’s never any shame or embarrassment of questions you may need to ask.

Suzanne C., verified from Pabau

Amie was lovely talking about my options for Laser hair removal and then sent me an email of prices and everything. Really appreciate it. And can’t wait to get started.

Jessica P., review from Pabau

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
