What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy can help you hit your goals, whether you want to rejuvenate, firm or brighten your skin, or tone parts of your body,

Developed from 30 years of research, Mesotherapy is an excellent and highly versatile treatment for rejuvenating, firming, toning and slimming different parts of your body. It is also used to help reduce cellulite, to promote weight loss, to firm up sagging skin, and to treat stretch marks and ageing skin.

Many of our clients, both men women, also use Mesotherapy for treating facial conditions such as acne scars, uneven skin tone, dull skin, fine lines and skin sagging. You can even begin anti-ageing Mesotherapy treatments from your mid-20s upwards as a preventative measure, to stop wrinkles from forming.

Our doctor will discuss its vast range of benefits during your initial consultation, and will help you decide whether it’s the correct and most appropriate option for you.

How does it work?

Mesotherapy involves injecting a clever cocktail of natural extracts, amino acids, vitamins and pharmaceuticals (including hyaluronic acid) into the middle layers of your skin. This special solution rejuvenates the cells, which in turn stimulates extra production of collagen and elastin – that’s the magic stuff that makes your skin fresh, tight and healthy.

Mesotherapy can also be an excellent, non-surgical method for tackling excess fat. When injected directly into your problem areas, our formula prevents body cells from storing fat by increasing your local metabolic rate (we’ve all heard how body metabolism is linked to burning body fat, right?), and this in turn breaks down existing fat cells. The body injections target localised fat and cellulite, such as in those found in the thighs, the bottom, love handles, double chin and any other areas displaying fat pockets.

Unlike liposuction — a popular surgical method for removing body fat — Mesotherapy is effective for dealing with cellulite. In fact, liposuction often makes existing cellulite appear worse due to the excess skin formation after the procedure. In Mesotherapy we inject directly into the cellulite meaning that we can be very selective in the areas that are treated. You will end up with skin that is even and smooth, with a dramatic reduction in cellulite in the most natural way. You will be impressed.

How long does the treatment take to work?

You’ll notice that the skin is more hydrated and toned after just one session of Mesotherapy. Over time, however, the skin tone will become even more radiant and balanced, and your face and neck will appear increasingly fresh and rejuvenated.

What is the downtime?

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical procedure, meaning there is no hospitalisation and no general anaesthesia. Subsequently, there is also virtually no downtime. Minor bruising can appear, but it subsides quickly.

Does it hurt?

A local anaesthetic cream can be applied prior to Mesotherapy to ensure there is absolutely minimal discomfort during the injections. However, most patients tolerate the procedure exceptionally well.

How many treatments are needed?

Ideally, Mesotherapy should be purchased as a pack of four to six sessions. These can be done at one to two-week intervals. Once you’ve achieved your optimal effect, we recommend that you have approximately two treatments per year in order to maintain results.

During your consultation and ongoing aftercare, we will address any of your concerns and draw up an individualised treatment plan so you can be assured of obtaining the best results possible.

We also offer interest free finance on treatments above £280 and on selected packages.

  • Do not wash or take a shower for at least 8 hours after the treatment, nor take any hot baths for 48 hours after treatment. Once this 48-hour period has elapsed, baths are allowed for the first week, but must be limited to 15 minutes (which will assist with any bruising that may have occurred).
  • Avoid exercising for 48 hours after treatment. Exercise will cause you to sweat and excrete the solution out the pores of the skin, which will decrease effectiveness of the treatment.
  • Drink at least 1.5L of water the day of treatment and continue this intake of water for up to one week.
  • Sun exposure must be avoided for 48 hours after the treatment and until bruising subsides. If it’s necessary to go into the sun, use SPF 30 or greater at all times.
  • Massage with Arnica gel or cream three to four times daily to help with swelling and bruising.

Taking care of yourself after Mesotherapy is crucial. By following the above you will enjoy your results for longer.

What is mesotherapy good for?

Mesotherapy can assist to enhance sluggish blood circulation, which helps the body flush out toxins that cause ageing, as well as dull, tired-looking skin and superficial wrinkles. This procedure can also be used to cure acne, hyperpigmentation, and give the skin a “lit-from-within” radiance.

How long does mesotherapy last?

Results from a course of mesotherapy treatments for skin renewal typically last 3-5 months. To keep the outcomes, follow-up treatments will be necessary. Depending on the indication and serum utilised, different treatment plans are used.

Is mesotherapy the same as Botox?

Mesotherapy has a different result than injecting botox directly into a muscle to reduce dynamic, mimic wrinkles since the botulinum toxin concentration is lower in this situation.

Does mesotherapy have side effects?
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Skin swelling.
  • Skin sensitivity.
  • Itching and burning sensation on the skin.
  • Rash on skin surface.
  • Bruise on skin surface.

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
