Frown lines, also known as glabella lines, are the (vertical) expression lines that stretch out from the bridge of our nose towards the centre of our forehead whenever we frown. These generally become more noticeable as we age due to a slowing down in the production of collagen and elastin in our skin, and through repeated use of these facial muscles.
Similarly, forehead lines are the horizontal wrinkles caused by movement of the frontalis muscle. Whenever we raise our eyebrows, these forehead furrows become more pronounced. Again, these lines may appear deeper with age, although this process can also be sped up by additional factors such as lifestyle choices and genetics.
You may find the appearance of these can make you feel self-conscious or older beyond your years. Fortunately, there are several treatments – or non-surgical brow-lifts – for you to consider. One example may include injecting filler into the temples to restore lost volume, which then lifts and tightens the skin across the forehead. A thread lift in this region can also achieve fantastic results.
As always, our doctor will discuss and analyse your concerns and goals with you during your initial consultation and help create a tailored plan especially for you to treat those frown & forehead lines.
