What is Regenera Activa for Hair?

Combat hair loss with Regenera Activa – an exciting breakthrough in the fight against hair loss that uses micrografting with regenerative cells from your own healthy hair. Hair loss affects millions of people across the world, both men and women. If you suffer from hair loss, you may find it impacts your confidence or sense of identity. You may want to do something about it. Well, a treatment with Regenera Activa could help. It is a ground-breaking regenerative procedure that uses your body’s own tissue. As a result, it can improve hair density and trigger new growth on your scalp in areas where you are thinning.

Who is it for?

Regenera Activa is suitable for early, mild or moderate forms of the hereditary condition known as “androgenic alopecia”. Most people refer to it as male and female pattern baldness.

Why Vie Aesthetics are your hair growth experts

Vie Aesthetics have been the first clinic to introduce Regenera Activa to the UK. We also combine it with supporting treatments, including carboxytherapy and LED light therapy  to give our clients the  best possible outcome. We also offer the  DNA TrichoTest to identify the best hair loss treatments and maintenance products for you. Discover today whether Regenera Activa for Hair can help you maintain a healthy head of hair, too.

How does Micrografting with Regenera Activa work?

Regenera Activa is a  regenerative treatment in the sense that it uses your body’s own ability to regenerate. It is also an autologous process, which means it uses the body’s own resources.

What happens during your treatment?

During your treatment, the doctor takes a small piece of tissue from an area on your scalp where the hair is still dense and not affected by baldness. This is usually the area at the back of the head, closest to the neck. From this tissue sample, the doctor harvests regenerative progenitor cells and injects them into areas where the thinning is occurring.

How does this help with hairloss?

This process not only activates follicles that are nearing the end-phase of their life (known as miniaturised hairs, which are the small, fine hairs you see – or you do not see – in cases of thinning). It also plants new hair follicles. Any previously dying follicles can once again become healthy and over time start producing denser and thicker hair as your hair cycle returns to normal.

How many session do you need?

Regenera Activa sessions can vary in numbers, depending on the individual needs. Note that we also combine this to create a package and complete programs with supporting treatments including carboxytherapy and LED light therapy  to encourage growth and to optimise your results. The DNA TrichoTestcan also help you create the ultimate personalised treatment plan for your hair loss.

How long does it take to work?

The whole process promotes the growth of new hair follicles with the first results showing within four to seven months. As with traditional surgical hair transplants, and such is the way with the human hair cycle (it is a slow process), any new hairs mature and thicken across the months from which they first appear. However, some clinical observations have shown improvements in hair count and scalp coverage after just six to eight weeks. Indeed, since we introduced the treatment, a number of clients reported thicker, healthier hair in a similar period.

What is the downtime of Regenera Activa for Hair?

Unlike traditional surgical hair transplants, which involve taking large grafts  from the back of your head, Micro-Transplantation with Regenera Activa has zero downtime. You can return to your daily activities straight away, but we do not recommend any streneous physical activity for 48 hours.

The technique is a one-off-session, and is safe and completely natural. In fact, Regenera Activa treatments usually only last around 30 minutes.

Does the micrographting with Regenera Activa hurt?

Your doctor injects local anaesthetic prior to Regenera Activa procedures. The process is quick and involves a small number of injections into the thinning area. Apart from the fleeting discomfort of the injections, there is minimal pain. Unlike a traditional surgical hair transplant, the procedure is predominately non-invasive.

As such, there is minimal risk of scarring from where the tissue sample is taken. In addition, because the treatment uses cells from your own scalp, there is no risk of allergic reactions.

How many treatments of Regenera Activa are needed?

The results from micrographting with Regenera Activa are long-lasting and the procedure and we an  repeate it as often as you wish. Most clients have repeat sessions every two to six years depending on their own needs and the extent of their hair loss.  Regenera Activa treatments are suitable for both men and women, but is specifically used for treating male and female pattern baldness.

How can you. support and boost your results?

Note that at Vie Aesthetics, we offer a complete hair regeneration programme with Regenera Activa procedures. We  combine it with diagnostics like DNA TrichoTest™,  LED Light Therapy, and Carboxytherapy , in order to help optimise your outcome.

Can Regenera Activa be used with other treametns and products?

Hair Micro-grafting with Regenera Activa can be very effective when used in conjunction with approved hair loss medications, such as finasteride and minoxidil, or to support surgical hair transplants. You may even consider the treatment as an alternative to either, depending on your own situation.

How can diagnostics make your treatment plan more effective?

At Vie Aesthetics, we also offer the ground-breaking DNA TrichoTest™ for helping you create the ultimate personalised treatment plan. This ground-breaking genetic testing analyses your DNA and lifestyle factors to identify your hair loss. With insight to your vulnerability to hair loss, we can then establish the treatments that will be most effective for you.

What combinations are offered at Vie Aesthetics?

Typically, at Vie Aeshtetics we create personalised treatment plans and we combine Regenera Activa with other supporting treatments, including carboxytherapy and LED light therapy,  WOW Fusion for Hair by VieDerma, IV infusions that target hair loss, HairGen Laser home care devices, and topical medical hair loss products to give you the best possible outcome.

Are there any drawbacks with the Regenera Activa treatment?

Micro-grafting Regenera Activa is suitable for early, mild and moderate forms of male and female pattern baldness. It will not magically give you a whole new head of hair in instances where there is more advanced “baldness” (large areas where the hair follicles are not working). It is also vital to note that everyone is different and results vary between individuals. Indeed,  DNA TrichoTest™ is a fantastic place to begin in establishing the treatments that will best work for you when tackling hair loss.

We also offer interest free finance on treatments above £280 and on selected packages.

What type of hair loss is Regenera Activa suitable for?

Regenera Activa treatments works best for early, mild or moderate forms of the hereditary condition known as “androgenic alopecia”. This is most commonly referred to as “male pattern baldness” and “female pattern baldness”.

Is Regenera Activa different to a surgical hair transplant?

Yes, Regenera Activa treatments are different to surgical hair transplants. Surgical hair transplants are an invasive procedure. They involve many hair grafts being removed from the back of a patient’s head, and then “transplanted” by a surgeon to areas of hair loss. These procedures are very effective for tackling larger areas of baldness and can deliver great results in many patients. However, they are expensive treatments, and they can leave scarring and require significant downtime. By contrast, Regenera Activa is a minimally invasive procedure, in which only a tiny tissue sample is taken from the patient’s scalp. From this, the doctor harvests regenerative stem cells, which are then mixed in a solution and carefully injected into your scalp where thinning is occurring. This process helps to create new hair growth and thicken existing hair. Downtime is virtually nil.

Is Regenera Activa an alternative to surgical hair transplants?

Regenera Activa treatments can be considered as an alternative to surgical hair transplant procedures, or to support surgical hair transplants. It all depends on your own situation, needs and goals. Regenera Activa can be very effective for cases of mild to moderate thinning, but it is not suitable for areas where advanced baldness has occurred.

Are there any side-effects with Regenera Activa?

Regenera Activa is an autologous procedure, which means it uses tissue samples and stem cells taken from a patient’s own body. That means the chances of side-effects are very unlikely!

How long are Regenera Activa sessions?

Regenera Activa sessions usually take around 30 minutes, although it can vary. Your doctor will advise you on how long your session is likely to take.

Are results from Regenera Activa permanent?

It is likely that repeat sessions of Regenera Activa will be required to maintain results. We currently recommend repeat sessions from between two to six years, although this can vary between individuals and depends on your own circumstances and response to the treatment. Your doctor will assess your progress with free follow-up appointments.

Is Regenera Activa a cure for baldness?

No, Regenera Activa is not a cure for baldness. It cannot magically give you a new head of hair. However, it can be used to slow and even halt hair loss in points of thinning, and create new hair growth. It can also be used in conjunction with other treatments and approved hair loss medications in order to optimise results.

I am just infinitely grateful to Dr. Liakas and the Vie Aesthetics team. Having suffered from hair loss for years and no one could help me. I was so desperate. Then I met Dr. Liakas and he is really a fantastic doctor. After a few treatments my hair was growing again. Thank you, thank you and thanks again. I really recommend Dr. Liakas and his team!

George C, from Google

Four months after I tried the procedure, I visited my mum and almost the first thing she said was that I’d grown more hair.

Chris Wild, 39

My hair started to fall out after the birth of my two children, and it was still thinning five years later, so much so that I could see my scalp at the top of my head. But three months after having this, I noticed little hairs begin to grow. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. It has restored my confidence and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Tracy Kiss, 31

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
