CO₂ laser resurfacing typically takes approximately 30–90 minutes, depending on the treatment area and intensity. Additional time may be needed for consultation and anaesthetic preparation.
You may notice smoother-looking skin once the initial healing period has passed. Further improvements develop gradually over the following weeks and months as collagen production increases.
Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning and sunbeds for at least 2–3 weeks before treatment.
Stop retinol, exfoliating acids and other active skincare products 7–14 days beforehand, as advised.
Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, waxing and other laser treatments for at least two weeks.
Keep your skin hydrated and follow any recommended skincare preparation.
Arrive with clean, make-up-free skin.
Avoid excessive heat, saunas, steam rooms and strenuous exercise for 48–72 hours.
Use only the gentle cleansing and healing products recommended by your clinician.
Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate peeling skin.
Avoid make-up until the skin has fully healed.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least six weeks and use SPF 50 once your skin has healed sufficiently.
You will receive detailed aftercare instructions and a recommended recovery skincare routine.
Some patients may see significant improvement after one treatment, while others may require further sessions, particularly when treating deeper scars or more advanced skin concerns.

You may experience warmth, prickling or a burning sensation during treatment. A topical anaesthetic may be used to help manage discomfort.

Yes. CO₂ laser resurfacing requires a recovery period.
Redness, swelling, peeling and crusting are common during the first 5–10 days. We recommend allowing approximately 14 days of downtime, particularly for more intensive treatments.
Residual redness may persist for several weeks, depending on your skin and treatment intensity.
