Morpheus8 vs HIFU: Which one is right for me?

Morpheus8 and HIFU are often placed against each other. Both offer effective solutions for saggy skin and wrinkles, but which one is for you?

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a non-surgical anti-ageing treatment that combines fractional micro-needling with Radio Frequency (RF) technology to rebuild skin from deep inside. The special device targets subdermal tissue at its lowest layers, enabling you to achieve a beautiful, natural outcome.

The Morpheus8 is a special micro-needling device that uses very tiny “micro” pins to penetrate and injure effected skin at an underlying level.

What is HIFU?

HIFU is a revolutionary skin-tightening procedure that helps you to lift and smooth sagging skin without surgery.

HIFU Skin Tightening works by concentrating beams of ultrasound onto skin that has lost laxity, usually due to the natural ageing process.

This process strengthens the underlying tissues in weakened skin while also stimulating your body’s own natural production of collagen.

How does Morpheus8 work?

Morpheus8 is a micro-needling treatment that uses advance Radio Frequency energy to strengthen, tighten and smooth skin. As skin matures, the production of its structural proteins collagen and elastin begins to slow down. Over time, this causes skin to lose its firmness and elasticity. Skin gradually begins to sag and our contours lose definition. Similarly, concerns such as stretch marks or scarring are where the collagen and elastin fibres have broken. These can all be treated with Morpheus8!

Morpheus8 can help you:

The Morpheus8 device is suitable for all skin types, and for men and women. The innovative technology also reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

At our clinics, the Morpheus8 treatments start from £850!

How does HIFU work?

HIFU Skin Tightening is an effective procedure that uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound energy to safely trigger a deep reparative process within the skin.

We use the latest technology devices by Levura and Perfecte’me to deliver energy to the dermal tissue.  This traumatises the treatment zone, which promotes healing, contraction, and collagen stimulation. During the treatment sessions, your skin becomes firmer. These results continue to improve as new collagen is generated.

Common areas that can be targeted include:

  • forehead (heavy lines, eyebrow lifting)
  • eyes (under eye, crow’s feet)
  • cheek area (nasolabial folds, depressions)
  • chin (double chin, jowls)
  • jowl line (v-line forming)
  • neck and chest (wrinkles, loose skin)
  • localised fat and slimming assistance (focused energy waves can destroy localised fat cells).

At our clinics, the Morpheus8 treatments start from £275!

What are the main similarities/differences of Morpheus8 and HIFU?

Of course, the main difference between Morpheus8 vs HIFU is the technology utilised to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

As mentioned previously, HIFU takes advantage of ultrasound energy, but Morpheus8 utilises radio frequency energy to achieve the wonderful skin tightening results.

On the other hand, the key similarity that many can establish between Morpheus8 vs HIFU is that they are both non-surgical, non-invasive skin tightening treatments. They both heat up the skin – through different technologies – to induce a collagen remodelling response in the deeper layers of the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and many more skin concerns.

Depending on the individual, one method may be more suitable for them than the other. Our expert practitioners will assess and recommend the right one for you.

How many treatments do I need with each?

Morpheus8

The recommended number of sessions depends on your specific needs and desired outcomes. However, Morpheus sessions can often be done in 3-6 courses. However, it is dependent on the area being treated, for instance the condition or extent of the issue for that area. Our expert clinic practitioner will take this into consideration when it comes to recommending the number of treatments required for the results you can be happy with.

HIFU

Usually, most patients require one HIFU treatment, but once again as a rule of thumb it is all dependent on the area being treated and your body’s own collagen building ability. Therefore, additional HIFU treatment sessions may be recommended and may be suited best for you!

When will I see results?

Both treatments rely on your body to be able to create collagen and everyone’s body is different how quickly their body naturally generates collagen.

For Morpheus8 you will see visible skin tightening results within just a few days. Your skin should then continue to improve over the coming weeks and months as new collagen and elastin production is stimulated. Final results should peak at around six months.

With HIFU, you may experience some results straight after your treatment. Generally, however, results can take up to three months (12 weeks) to show, after which they will continue to improve for up to seven months post treatment.

So, Morpheus8 vs HIFU - which one is right for me?

It is without question that Morpheus8 and HIFU are impressive as non-surgical options that use the technology of micro-needling and radio frequency energy (Morpheus8) and ultrasound (HIFU).

The appealing characteristic of such treatments is how they achieve such great results yet don’t add anything into the skin but rather work naturally with your body to stimulate a boost of collagen production or work on the muscles to tighten and lift. In doing all this but still making sure you keep looking like you just fresher, lifted and more confident in your appearance.

At Vie Aesthetics, our expert medical team will take into consideration the results you are wanting to achieve, which technology you are comfortable with and when you want results. Morpheus8 delivers quicker results over a shorter period, with initial visible results being seen early on and improving significantly. However, HIFU can take several months to see visible results.

To make the best informed decision for yourself, choosing an experienced practitioner who will be honest on what’s right for you is most important.  This means having an informative consultation where your suitability for the treatment and outcome goals are matched!
