What is it?

Lumecca™ Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy can help you achieve the clear complexion you desire, especially if you’re troubled by skin irregularities such as age spots, thread veins and melasma, or worried about your skin’s tone and the effects of ageing.

Lumecca™ IPL is an advanced therapy in skin rejuvenation and repair. It uses wavelengths of light to correct damaged skin, treat vascular lesions and remove skin pigments that cause unwanted changes in colour and tone. Suitable for face and body, it can help you combat the following concerns:

During your comprehensive, no-obligation consultation, our skin experts will analyse your concerns and help you decide whether Lumecca IPL is a suitable treatment for you.

How does it work?

Your skin’s colours and shades are defined by the pigments in your skin. In its simplest terms, Lumecca™ IPL helps to eliminate any of the pigments that are causing aesthetic irregularities such as redness, age spots, melasma, thread or spider veins, and hyperpigmentation. These disorders are most commonly caused by genetics, ageing, or sun exposure.

Our advanced Lumecca™ technology diminishes their appearance by delivering specific wavelengths of intense pulsed light directly into the skin. Targeted pigments absorb this light, which destroys them. This gives your skin improved clarity. The process also stimulates collagen production, helping to rejuvenate and repair the skin from concerns such as ageing, sun damage and acne scarring.

Note that the Lumecca™ IPL is the most powerful treatment of its kind. It delivers three times more energy than similar treatments for improved efficacy, meaning that you will most likely require fewer sessions to achieve your desired outcome.

How long does the treatment take to work?

The treatment starts to work immediately, but how long you begin to see visible results depends on your own particular situation, and the concern you are treating. Generally speaking, you should begin to see much clearer, happier, improved skin over the coming days. Brown spots typically appear darker immediately after treatment. These then flake off over the coming days, leaving fresher, clearer skin underneath. If you are being treated for vascular lesions, you may see some improvements straight away with a final outcome after two weeks.

Repeat treatment(s) may be required until you have achieved your desired result. Your practitioner will advise you on what to expect and will monitor your progress through free reviews.

What is the downtime?

Downtime is minimal. You should be able to return to most normal activities straight after treatment. However, it is advised that you avoid excessive sunlight and tanning for several weeks after treatment as the skin will be sensitive. Your practitioner will advise you on this, as well as any aftercare products you should use. Note that you may experience some visible redness in the treated area. This will likely subside after a few hours.

If you are having Lumecca™ IPL for vascular lesions and spider veins, you may experience some minor bruising and swelling in the days after treatment. Again, this should pass fairly quickly.

Does it hurt?

Lumecca™ IPL procedures are short and involve minimal discomfort. You will likely experience flashes of mild heat on the skin during treatment.

How many treatments are needed?

How many treatments you require will depend on your situation, needs and goals. However, it is possible you may require repeat session(s) to achieve your desired outcome. Your practitioner will advise you on this during your initial consultation.

After you have achieved your goals, maintenance sessions may be advised every six to 12 months.

We also offer interest free finance on treatments above £280 and on selected packages.
