As part of our wellness clinic at Vie Aesthetics, we are introducing PSA Testing. PSA Testing is a simple blood test which helps to analyse the PSA (Prostate-specific antigen) levels in the blood. High levels of PSA can be a sign of prostate cancer among other things.
Did you know?In the UK, 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives. This figure is higher if it runs in your family, or if you are of black ethnicity.
How to know if you should get a PSA test?
People with prostate cancer rarely discover symptoms until the later stages of the disease, so PSA testing is an incredibly helpful way to keep an eye on your PSA levels.
Many men over the age of 50 are offered PSA testing by their GP, but any male over 18 is welcome to have a PSA test as part of the Vie Aesthetics Wellness Clinic.
What is the Process?
The process is quick and simple, taking a PSA test requires just a small blood sample. This is then sent off to our lab for analysis and a report is returning typically within 3-4 days. Your Practitioner will contact you to discuss the results of your test during a follow up appointment.
