Treatments For Hair Loss That May Actually Work

15-08-2022 | Posted in: Blogs, Hair Treatments

Regardless of age or lifestyle, everyone can experience hair loss. Numerous factors, including allergies, stress, and heredity, can lead to hair loss. But don’t panic, there are non-surgical and surgical techniques to stop hair loss. Vie Aesthetics now provides a selection of hair loss treatments to help both men and women who are experiencing various types of hair loss. Our specialists will treat your particular form of hair loss, whether you have receding hair lines, alopecia, or other issues. There is no universal solution that will satisfy everyone.

What are the causes of hair loss (permanent and temporary)?

There are many conditions that can cause balding and thinning, including different genetics. The most common type of hair loss is genetic androgenetic alopecia – also known as hereditary baldness or male/female pattern baldness. However, even with hereditary baldness, there are many possible factors that can contribute to the condition. These can include medications, pathologies, emotional state and lifestyle. But ultimately our own DNA and genetic make-up plays a leading role in what works well and what doesn’t.

What's the best treatment for hair loss if it can be treated?

At Vie Aesthetics, we offer complete management programme, the  VieStem Hair with Regenera Activa, a revolutionary regenerative micro-grafting treatment that helps slow down hair loss and indeed boost new hair growth and hair density and thickness. It is autologous and is based on the regenerative power of progenitor or stem cells VieStem Hair with Regenera Activa. Basically, it works by using your body’s own stem cells to activate follicles that are nearing the end-phase of their life and plant new hair follicles. Any previously dying follicles can once again become healthy, and over time, capable of producing denser and thicker hair as your hair cycle returns to normal. VieStem Hair with Regenera Activa is best described as “regenerative” in the sense that it uses your body’s own ability to regenerate – in this case hair follicles. It is also described as “autologous”, which means it is using the body’s own resources – in this case stem cells from your own scalp.

During your Regenera Activa treatment, the doctor takes a small piece of tissue from an area on your scalp where the hair is still dense and not affected by baldness. This is usually the area at the back of the head, closest to the neck. From this tissue sample, the doctor harvests regenerative progenitor or stem cells, which are then mixed in a solution and carefully injected into your scalp where the thinning is occurring.

VieStem Hair with Regenera Activa is suitable for early, mild and moderate forms of male and female pattern baldness. It will not magically give you a whole new head of hair in instances where there is more advanced “baldness” (large areas where the hair follicles are not working). It is also vital to note that everyone is different and results vary between individuals. As mentioned above, the DNA TrichoTest™ is a fantastic place to begin in establishing the treatments that will best work for you when tackling hair loss.

Diagnosis is key, and at Vie Aesthetics, we offer the  DNA Tricho Test, a ground-breaking genetic test, specifically targeted for helping you identify why hair loss is happening in relation to you, and how best to beat it. It can identify your predisposition to conditions such as thinning, hereditary baldness and alopecia.

Led light Therapy (available at Vie Aesthetics) helps to keep the scalp oxygenated and keeps the blood flow intact, helping nutrients to flow to the hair follicles. Carboxytherapy can also be used to help hair growth and even slow hair loss. When controlled blasts of carbon dioxide are directed into your scalp, blood circulation is instantly improved, delivering nutrients and oxygen to the area.

Are there any natural remedies that can help with hair loss?

Dr Ioannis Liakas (Medical Director at Vie Aesthetics) suggests having a blood test to ensure you are not lacking in any vitamins and if you are lacking in vitamins such as Vitamin D, Zinc and Vitamin B12, taking oral supplements or having vitamin injections and Vitamin Infusions via an IV Drip.

What things should you avoid to prevent hair loss/further hair loss?

Dr Liakas (Medical Director at Vie Aesthetics) suggests trying to avoid stress, smoking, and to aim at keeping a healthy balanced diet. Supplements help, but it is important to base these on actual data from blood results.
