Stretch marks? Scars? Puffy eyes? Cellulite? Hard-to-rid fat? Carboxytherapy could be the answer

One of our ongoing missions at Vie Aesthetics is to discover the latest innovations and bring them to our clinics. We are constantly scouring the globe for the most advanced technology and effective procedures, and in many cases, we are one of the first – if not the first – to introduce certain treatments to the UK.

It can be exhausting work, but it’s very exciting and rewarding.

One of our most recent additions to the clinic that we’re really thrilled about is carboxytherapy. This is a non-surgical procedure that uses carbon dioxide to essentially force the skin and body in to repairing itself, in instances where there is a problem linked to poor blood circulation. It’s a versatile treatment that can recondition the skin and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars, for example. However, it is also an exceptional fat-reduction tool, helping battle previously tough-to-tackle concerns such as cellulite, localised pockets of fat (such as around the hips), puffy eyes, and even double chins. And it can also be used to encourage hair growth in hair loss programs.

Although carboxytherapy itself as a concept and practice has been around for many years, the techniques have made great strides. Ours is a special machine capable of unprecedented levels of precision, with presets that are specifically tailored to a wide range of ailments for the best possible outcome.

Sounds impressive. So how does it work?

Regardless of the area you’re having treated, the concept is much the same. Carboxytherapy is based on how our bodies use oxygen to function.

When we breathe in air, our blood cells supply oxygen to our body’s tissues while also expelling carbon dioxide. Unfortunately, as we age, less oxygen gets pumped round, which means our skin’s ability to repair itself slows down.

By injecting controlled blasts of carbon dioxide into problem parts, such as under your eyes, your brain is triggered into panicking. In response, the brain sends blood to the targeted area, instantly delivering nutrients and oxygen. New collagen production is stimulated and over time skin becomes tauter, fresher and smoother.

Stretch marks and scars are reduced using this method. Lost contours can be restored to the face, making you appear rejuvenated. Tired-looking eyes will be revived, and dark circles will disappear, replaced with a more natural colour. In terms of hair concerns, blood circulation is improved in the scalp, and oxygen and nutrients are delivered to hair follicles.

Say no to cellulite…

However, the treatment also works for eliminating troublesome pockets of fat – including, yes, cellulite! For these anti-fat treatments, carbon dioxide is injected into unwanted fat cells, causing them to expand, break and dissolve. This can help tone down areas such as the stomach, hips or thighs, and eliminate double chins. The process is completely safe and less invasive than surgeries such as liposuction.

So, as you can hopefully see, carboxytherapy is a safe, versatile treatment with a range of benefits and uses. And it doesn’t have the rigours or risk of side-effects associated with surgeries.

If any of the aforementioned problems are a concern for you, then why not drop us a line and book in for your comprehensive, no-obligation consultation. Our doctor will discuss whether carboxytherapy is a suitable treatment for you.
