What is Microneedling with the Dermaroller and Dermapen?

Maintain fresh and healthy skin with Microneedling, helping to give you the sparkling appearance you desire.

Microneedling with the Dermaroller and Dermapen is sometimes known as collagen induction therapy. It’s a popular technique that speeds up the renewal process of your skin, which helps to restore vitality to the face and neck. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

During short procedures, a handheld device (either a Dermaroller or the Dermapen) is rolled across your skin by a doctor. This process triggers the production of new collagen. Over time and as part of a sustained regimen, you will experience a fresher and revitalised appearance, with smoother, tighter skin.

Microneedling is often combined with other rejuvenation treatments for optimal results. During your initial consultation, our practitioner will help you create a treatment plan tailored towards your goals and needs.

How does it work?

A dermaroller is a small rolling contraption covered with tiny needles, which penetrate the deeper areas of the skin. When rolled over target areas such as your cheeks, neck and forehead, the minuscule injuries perpetrated by the roller induce the formation of new elastin and collagen fibres – the structural proteins that keep your skin fresh, tight and youthful. As your skin slowly responds to the treatment, its texture and firmness is improved. Ultimately, there is a reduction of fine lines, open pores, wrinkles, and discolouration.

We also offer microneedling treatments with the revolutionary Dermapen, which functions in much the same way. Shaped like a pen – as its name suggests – the Dermapen features sterililsed needle tips made up of 12 smaller needles, enabling precise application. When rolled over the skin, the technique stimulates the skin’s own natural ability for repair. designed to stimulate the skin’s own natural ability to heal itself.

Both treatments can also be used for tackling cellulite and stretch marks as they rebuild collagen fibres below your skin.

How long does the treatment take to work?

Results are gradual and are cumulative, meaning you will require repeat treatments in order to achieve an optimal outcome. The appropriate course for you will be discussed with you during your initial, no-obligation consultation.

What is the downtime?

There is minimal to zero downtime.

Does it hurt?

Microneedling with the Dermaroller and Dermapen may sound painful, but discomfort is actually minimal. The sensations you’ll feel will depend on the length of the needle and the area of treatment. Generally, you will experience a warming sensation as the needles are rolled across the skin. In some ways, the treatment could even be described as a specific kind of collagen-inducing “massage”. Your practitioner will be happy to explain more.

How many treatments are needed?

Repeat sessions with the Dermaroller and Dermapen will be required to achieve an optimal outcome and maintain results, and this will depend on your own situation, needs and goals. A personal plan will be discussed with you during your initial consultation and reviews. Often Microneedling is combined with other rejuvenation treatments in order to optimise results and hit your goals quicker.

We also offer interest free finance on treatments above £280 and on selected packages.

What does micro-needling actually do?

Cosmetic microneedling is a procedure that involves sticking tiny, sterile needles into the skin. Your body produces more collagen and elastin as a result of the little injuries, which helps your skin repair and makes you appear younger. It may also be referred to as collagen induction therapy.

How long does micro-needling last?

The effects of microneedling treatments typically persist between three and five months. How long new collagen remains in your skin and the severity of your skin issues determine how long the effects will stay.

How long does it take to see results with micro-needling?

The majority of patients get their full benefits four to six weeks after therapy. Your body will have ample time to create collagen and elastin and deliver it to your micro-wounds. You’ll now notice that your skin appears to be both younger and healthier.

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
