What is it?

If you dream of a smooth, crystal-clear complexion and desire a powerful product that guarantees celebrity-quality results, then the Fire & Ice Facial from iS Clinical could be for you.

Hailed as the “Red Carpet Treatment” and endorsed by A-listers including Halle Berry and Lindsay Lohan, the Fire & Ice Facial is an intensive, pharmaceutical-grade treatment that is designed to “resurface” the skin and promote cellular renewal, leaving you with nothing but fresh, beautiful skin. In addition to reversing the signs of ageing and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the treatment can also combat a number of skin issues including acne, hyperpigmentation and rosacea.

How does it work?

The Fire & Ice Facial is a double-pronged treatment that works like a cross between a peel and a facial, combining the benefits of both worlds. It involves two special masques being applied to the skin with a neutralisation stage in between.

The Intensive Resurfacing Masque is the treatment’s “Fire”. It contains a rich medley of botanical, clinical ingredients such as anxtioxidants, retinol, Niacinamide (vitamin B) and glycolic acid. When applied to the skin for several minutes, it removes the top layer of skin (epidermis) and boosts the production of collagen underneath, enabling fresh, new skin to breathe. It’s an incredibly powerful product, that gives patients a warm, tingling feeling.

The “Ice” is the Rejuvenating Masque. This is laced with potent antioxidants, cooling Aloe Vera, and skin-plumping hyaluronic acid, as well as green tea, grape seed, and rosemary extracts. Together, these ingredients soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin, and leave it feeling great.

How long does the treatment take to work?

Your skin will look and feel fresher and smoother straight after treatment, and you will boast an enviable glow.

What is the downtime?

The Fire & Ice Facial has no downtime. You shouldn’t experience any significant shedding, prolonged redness, irritation or inflammation. However, in the immediate hours following the treatment, the skin may look a little flushed. This should subside in approximately four to six hours.

Does it hurt?

Some patients may find the application of the Intensive Resurfacing Masque (“Fire”) a little strange or discomforting at first, but the sensations are not usually unpleasant, and the product only remains on the skin for several minutes.

How many treatments are needed?

Depending on your needs and goals, The Fire & Ice Facial can be used as a one-off treat, or they can be part of an ongoing regimen to maintain healthy, younger looking skin. This will be discussed between you and your dedicated skin therapist.

If the treatment is being used for a specific skin concern, such as acne, then a program will likely be created, and progress monitored. Again, this will be discussed during your initial skin consultation.

Any cons?

There aren’t many. Essentially, this is one of the most effective facials you will find.

We also offer interest free finance on treatments above £280 and on selected packages.

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE

Prepare your skin with the skincare regimen recommended by your practitioner. Avoid waxing or laser for 48 hours prior to your treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT

The Fire & Ice treatment bridges the gap between mild facials and invasive peels. It is likely that you will feel heat and tingling while the peel is in contact with the skin. This can increase after the masque is removed. However, after neutralisation and the subsequent application of the Rejuvenating ‘Ice’ mask, the skin calms almost entirely.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST TREATMENT

The Fire & Ice is a “no downtime” treatment. This means you shouldn’t experience any significant shedding, prolonged redness, irritation or inflammation. However, in the immediate hours following the treatment, the skin may look a little flushed.

This should subside in approximately four to six hours.

POST-TREATMENT ADVICE:

  • SPF should be worn after this treatment and continued use is recommended for up to four weeks. (Although we recommend SPF is worn throughout the year).
  • Avoid heat & exercise/activities that will cause you to perspire within the first 12 hours of the treatment. This will increase the likelihood of the deep penetrating ingredient of your treatment to be secreted back out of your pores reducing the effect.
  • Avoid the use of any “active” products (Active Serum, White Lightening, White Lightening Complex) on your skin for two to three days.
  • Avoid “at-home” exfoliation for the first week of your treatment.
  • Waxing or laser on the face should be avoided for the first 48 hours post treatment.

If a reaction is suspected or inflammation persists for longer than 24 hours please consult your therapist.

Taking care of yourself after the procedure is crucial. By following the above you will enjoy your results for longer

Please note that results vary from person to person due to lifestyle, external and internal factors, and genetic predispositions.
